Death the Walled Warren is Available Now!

Great news! The new short story by Richard Lee Byers is available to partly sate your appetite for more Scarred Lands! A download link for Death in the Walled Warren will be distributed to all backers who qualified for the stretch goal (and have completed their surveys... hint! hint!).
In fact, I am going to initiate a huge email blast from BackerKit that is going to send an email with links to backers who have downloadable PDFs. Supposedly this will bundle all your links for multiple products into a single email, but my apologies in advance if instead this results in a massive spam of emails to you...!
I really enjoyed Richard's new story, and I hope seeing some of the people and places of the Scarred Lands in black and white both satisfies you and leaves you wanting more.
A brief reminder that I have a project to fund an English translation of the French RPG Hellywood currently on Kickstarter. Hellywood is a supernatural noir game with lots of great features, including innovative mechanics, a detailed setting, and strong narrative elements. Please take a look!

Cover Art for Dagger of Spiragos
Dagger of Spiragos is the second part of the "Spiragos Trilogy" that starts with Gauntlet of Spiragos, which you'll recall is a free download for either 5th Edition or PFRPG. Print versions are available in the BackerKit pledge manager. If you'd like to add these but have already checked out, then please contact me so I can 'unlock' your BackerKit page.

Here's the back cover text for the story:
Famed elven adventurer, priest, and war hero Vladawen the Titanslayer faces a new challenge. Something is killing Redeemed slitheren in the Walled Warrens, and the elf has been sent as an agent of High King Jeddrad of Durrover to find out what. The ratfolk fear contagion is to blame, but the elf and his companion, the disgraced mage Cuinte, suspect otherwise. Someone, or something, may be deliberately sabotaging Durrover's diplomatic mission to the Warrens.
Return to the Scarred Lands in this short story by Richard Lee Byers, crafted to celebrate the re-envisioned second edition of the beloved RPG game setting.
The next update will have information about both version of the SLPG as layout has resumed (and is nearly finished for the PFRPG version).
In Other News:
Nocturnal Media launched a new Kickstarter project last week. The project will fund an English translation of Hellywood, a supernatural noir game originally published in France. The game itself is excellent, featuring a 2d6 dice system based on Craps, plus little touches like calling the GM the 'Voiceover'.

We’re making excellent progress. Below is an update of the status of all of the various Scarred Lands books, including a note about a health concern that’s causing a slight delay. A few other matters first…
BackerKit Status
I want to alert you that I’ll be processing the current BackerKit orders later this week. If you have not already completed your survey and/or considered add-ons like dice, then please do that soon. I want to make plans for how many books, dice, posters, etc. to print and manufacture.
I’d love to see a few more orders for the Spiragos Trilogy in print (you get the PDFs as well) as the order number is currently at the lower end of breaking even to offset print those books instead of printing-to-order via print-on-demand.
If you need a link to get back to your survey page to consider adding items, then let me know and I’ll message it to you.
Remember too that there is a $10k BackerKit stretch goal for a new short story for all project backers and pre-orders. We’re at almost $8000, so the goal is drawing close.

You unlocked one free story with stretch goals: Death in the Walled Warren by Richard Lee Byers. I enjoyed the story and expect that you will too. I expect to release that to everyone later in May to help tide you over.

Tide you over for all of this! Here’s where everything stands at this moment:
Scarred Lands Player’s Guide
5e version: Final drafts nearly complete and most of the material is in development.
PFRPG version: Final editing pass nearly complete and then off to layout.
Artwork: The last pieces are arriving now. See one of the recent pieces at the end of the update.
The Wise and the Wicked
5e version: Needs stat conversion then it’s done.
PFRPG version: Final drafts done, in development.
Artwork: Most of the artwork is ready from the prior edition, but we’re looking at replacing a few of illustrations. Plus, there are four new illustrations underway for the new characters appearing as backer pledge rewards.

5e version: Needs stat conversion then it’s done.
PFRPG version: Final drafts received.
Artwork: Art requests are going out now.

A Real Hurdle
All this said, the project overall is set back slightly due to significant health issues suffered by Chuck Wright. Chuck is doing the layout for at least the SLPG (both versions), but he’s likely been sidelined for the remainder of May.
Finally, thanks everyone for your continued enthusiasm for this project. The pieces coming together here are amazing and I think you’ll all be very pleased.

Wise & Wicked & Walled Warren

All four backers at the WISE OR WICKED pledge level have delivered character briefs (or not so briefs...! they know who I mean...!) for the new NPCs that we'll include in the new edition of The Wise & The Wicked. There are a wide variety of really interesting characters and the backers' enthusiasm for their characters and for the Scarred Lands setting is very infectious. These pledges work out nicely for everyone because it's four extra characters in your book! Plus more rules that will result in new prestige classes or archetypes or both. Final versions are WIP.
I also just received "Death in the Walled Warren", a new Scarred Lands short story by Richard Lee Byers, author of the Dead God Trilogy. This is the short story unlocked in stretch goals that is a free bonus for virtually all backers. We'll edit the story and release it to everyone as soon as possible.
