Feedback continues to be great for the PFRPG version of the Scarred Lands Player's Guide. One backer did catch an error in the creature statistics, so despite our multiple proofs we're not flawless! Please report any errors you find in a message to me so that we may implement corrections prior to sending the book to press.
The SLPG 5e version is in its first proof as of this past week. It is the same 312 pages as the PFRPG version. However, 5e players will receive a bonus of some additional artwork in Chapter Three: Classes and Archetypes so that our 5e version better matches the standard layout of the original publisher's books for the 5e game.
Don't worry, you'll have it too, just not in print. We'll make a short PDF of the classes with new artwork and copy the text from the PFRPG version of the SLRPG and make this available to you as a free download. This way you'll have the new artwork for digital reference!
Both Nocturnal Media and Onyx Path Publishing (the two partners in this new edition of the Scarred Lands) have new projects on Kickstarter. Please check out the details below!
My most ambitious KS project yet is now live. It’s a computer roleplaying game based on John Wick’s 7th Sea TTRPG. The project started strong (we're on the verge of 30% funded with two weeks to go), but the project needs a boost if it’s going to reach its goal, so please take a look!
And if this game is successful, then I promise it will not be the last TTRPG setting that I adapt as a cRPG! I would love to craft a Scarred Lands story as a video game! But I first need to fund Voyage of Fortune's Star.
If that's not enough, then I have a couple of ways to entice you (in addition to me dressed as a pirate/duelist in the project video!)...
1. Everyone who supported this project for the Scarred Lands Player's Guide who also backs Voyage of Fortune’s Star at the $35 SPECIAL DIGITAL or higher will receive an exclusive in-game item. That item will be a special sword, an in-game version of a shadowblade (see Relics & Rituals, page 162). I assure you that the powers of this weapon will be very useful...!
(NOTE: I’ll be sending a similar note to backers of two others RPG projects, Aquelarre and Prince Valiant The Storytelling Game. If you backed two or even all three of these projects, then your pledge for Voyage of Fortune’s Star will net you all the in-game items offered to previous backers!)
2. The $22 ROLL DEM BONES and $40 SPECIAL BONES pledge levels include custom 3d6 or 3d10. Obviously, 3d6 is useful in 5e and PFRPG, and the d10 makes great percentile dice.
Of course, backing at the $40 SPECIAL BONES means you’ll receive the in-game sword plus the dice!

I’d love your support for this project at any level as I’m anxious for this project to succeed. If you’re not interested in a cRPG, you can receive the dice only by pledging $5 for “no reward”. After the project ends you can apply those funds to a set of 3d6 (limit of one set of 3d6 or 3d10). You can also pledge $20 for “no reward” to later select a set of 10d6 or 10d10 of any one design (crossed swords, eye/web, sun/shadows).

Final text for the 5e version of the SLPG is complete and ready for layout, a process that begins immediately. We will go through two proofs of this edition too, and that will require at least four weeks, Sometime around October 1st I'll be able to give you a more specific date to expect your SLPG.
As I stated previously, it doesn't seem to service the 5e backers and only disservice the PFRPG backers to sit on the PFRPG version until both PDFs are ready. Therefore, we decided to stagger the release as these PDFs are available.
We're delighted to relaunch the Scarred Lands with this delivery to about half of our amazing backers!

Yes! Delivery of the PFRPG version of the Scarred Lands Player's Guide is a sure-thing before the end of this month. Proofing is complete and final corrections are being made to the design document. Here’s a quick teaser of the PFRPG Table of Contents. This is pulled from a a pre-proof version, but the content will hopefully still tantalize!
This is still close on the heels of the PFRPG edition, but it will not be available until September as we’re going to go through two rounds of proofing. All that remains is a bit of the monster conversion and the first proof will be underway.
We will release each of these PDFs to backers when they are independently available. So, yes, PFRPG backers will get their PDF first. We could wait to keep things equal, but that doesn’t do anything to help the 5e backers. Besides, hopefully the 5e backers recall the move to 5th Edition OGL came mid-project, and it has added to the time needed to prepare that edition.
The two print editions will still ship from the printer at the same time and so fulfillment of physical rewards will be simultaneous. I’ll update the press schedule when there’s solid information.
Kickstarter has offered the ability to “follow” people for a while now, but it was limited. Now you can follow anyone who doesn’t opt out of the program. Following gives you notice of when someone backs a project, but importantly lets you know when the person you follow has launched a new project. So as a follower of mine you would have received notice a few weeks ago when I launched a project for a new edition of Greg Stafford’s Prince Valiant® The Storytelling Game.
