Press & Schedule Update

Both editions of the Scarred Lands Player's Guide and The Wise & the Wicked remain at press. We had to deal with some problems with the cover "bleed" of the two SLPGs this week, but that appears to be sorted out. So, proofs should be prepared and shipping soon. I'll definitely post photos of those when I receive them!

Print Delivery Estimate

A schedule for the printed books depends mostly on transit time (the proverbial slow boat from China) and customs delays (if any). My best guess is that backer copies will ship in July at the latest. However, June remains a possibility if things go smoothly now that the cover issues appear to be sorted.

The dice are in production at the same facility, so coordinating these biggest portions of the process is much easier as a result.

Spiragos PDF Schedule

Both versions of Dagger of Spiragos are complete and in layout now. Ring of Spiragos follows directly behind and will be ready for layout when Dagger is finished.

This means we'll have the PDF of Dagger to you in early May and then Ring probably in late May, though Ring may slip to June if schedules don't align quite right.

 

  

Since things are moving along so well with the Scarred Lands material, I'd like to plug the gorgeous Talislanta: The Savage Land project that's live now on KS. This project is especially apropos to backers of this Scarred Land project because:

• 1. Talislanta is another classic fantasy RPG setting.
• 2. With yesterday's announced addition of a Pathfinder version of the game, there are now PFRPG and 5e OGL versions of the game. So, both games we supported in Scarred Lands are now also covered in Talislanta.

Anyway, a PDF of the rulebook version of your choice is just $5 (or all five possible versions are only $20), so I hope you'll consider adding your support.

Yes! We have four Scarred Lands books going to press this week. Both the PFRPG and 5e versions of Scarred Lands Player's Guide and The Wise & the Wicked are ready for press.

Also this week, all the material for both versions of Dagger of Spiragos, the adventure that follows Gauntlet of Spiragos, will be ready for layout. The third and final part of that trilogy is Ring of Spiragos, and it should wrap up and also be ready for layout in the next few weeks. That means both Dagger and Ring are on schedule to ship at the same time as the four books going to press now.

Brief Print Update + $1 RPG

All the errors that you've pointed out in both editions of the Scarred Lands Player's Guide and The Wise & The Wicked have been corrected, and that means we've updated the PDF files available via DTRPG. If you're not signed up to receive notices of updated files, then you should go to your DTRPG library and download the new files.

So what's next?

• We're completing the cover files for these four books and then all of them will be sent to press.

What about the Dagger and Ring of Spiragos adventures?

• Dagger of Spriagos is in final development now. Primarily, we only need to complete the conversion of the monsters to 5e. Then it's on to wrap up Ring of Spiragos. These two adventures will be printed domestically with the plan that they'll be printed and ready to ship by the time the larger books arrive via slow book from Hong Kong.

Brief news but good news!

The initial layout of the PFRPG version of The Wise & the Wicked came in at a whopping 160 pages! That version is at a first proof stage and is back in Scott's hands.

Text for the 5e version of the book is complete and layout begins first of the year.

I hope the PDFs of both editions will be available in January. Remember, all of these books need to be completed to go to press at the same time.

Here's a sample (unproofed!) spread from the PFRPG edition. Katonis is one of my favorite characters. In part, it's because he was played in a pre-SL D&D game by a high school friend of mine who later worked at White Wolf for many years. The Vigilants were born from Katonis.
